The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has revealed that several marketable degree programmes are available in different universities at relatively low cut-off points.
According to the university placement cluster points, some institutions admitted students into competitive courses with lower cluster points compared to other universities offering the same courses.
The cutoff points represent the minimum cluster points attained by the last student admitted to each programme by KUCCPS.
Students are therefore advised to consider comparing universities offering similar programmes since the cut-off points vary widely depending on demand and available capacity.

While leading institutions such as the University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) offer courses with high cut-off points, most public universities offer marketable programmes at relatively low cut-offs.
Similarly, there is a slight reduction in cutoff points for several humanities, education, and basic science courses in some universities to allow more students to secure degree placements.
However, it is worth noting that meeting the cutoff point does not automatically guarantee placement, as competition and programme capacity are also considered during the selection process.
The 2024 cutoff points are expected to guide students, parents, and schools as they prepare for the upcoming university placement that is expected to commence soon-Kenyans.co.ke.
