Kenya Meteorological Department forecasted rainfall in six regions from April 10 to April 14.
According to KMD, counties in Highlands and Coast are expected to receive morning showers and thunderstorms.
Maximum temperatures predicted to reach 38°C in some regions over the next five days.
Nairobi – Some counties will receive rainfall over the next five days, according to the latest weather update from the Kenya Meteorological Department.
In a notice to the public, the department predicted rainfall in six regions, including Northeastern, from Friday, April 10, to Tuesday, April 14 “Rainfall is expected to continue in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the South Rift Valley, the Southeastern Lowlands, the Coast and Northeastern Kenya,” Kenya Met said.
The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley
The counties of Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot will receive rain in the mornings until April 14.
The Kenya Met predicted showers and thunderstorms over a few places in the afternoons and showers at night for the next five days. According to the weatherman, the maximum temperatures in these counties will be 32°C and the minimum temperatures 9°C.
Northwestern.
The Turkana and Samburu counties will experience sunny intervals in the morning on Friday, April 10; Saturday, April 11; and Tuesday, April 14. On Sunday, April 12, and Monday, April 13, there are chances of these counties receiving rainfall in the morning.
All the afternoon will be sunny in Turkana and Samburu, with night showers predicted from Friday, April 10, to Sunday, April 12.
The maximum temperatures will be 37°C while the minimum temperatures are projected to be 38°C.
Highlands East of the Rift Valley.
The Kenya Met predicted morning rains over a few places in Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Nairobi counties in the next five days, apart from Monday, April 13.
The weatherman predicts afternoon and night showers over a few places throughout the entire period. In the ten counties, maximum temperatures are projected to be 29°C and minimums to be 06°C.
Northeastern
Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo counties will receive morning rainfall for the next five days according to the weather forecast.
Kenya Met predicted showers over a few places both in the afternoon and at night, with the maximum temperatures projected to be 38°C.
Southeastern lowlands.
In Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta counties as well as inland parts of Tana River county, the weatherman predicted sunny intervals in the morning, with rain expected Tuesday, April 14.
On Saturday, April 11 and Tuesday, April 14, the weatherman said these counties will experience afternoon showers. For the next five days, these counties will experience showers over a few places at night, with minimum temperatures projected to be 13°C.
Coast.
The weatherman predicted morning showers over a few places in Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale counties as well as the Tana Delta.
There is a chance of showers over a few places in the afternoons on Monday, April 13, and Tuesday, April 14, with all nights predicted to be partly cloudy. KMD predicted maximum temperatures of 34°C and minimum temperatures of 25°C in these counties-TUKO.
